Vocational Courses

West Bengal Government has established West Bengal State Council of Vocational Education and Training (WBSCVT & T), a statutory body under West Bengal Act VII of 2005, with the aim of attributing importance for Vocational Council. Naktala High School has got affiliation from the aforesaid council to impart Vocational Training to Class VIII and X passed students.

Courses at X + Level

The traditional syllabus of H.S. , for class X passed students is run by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). It is also called General H.S.
Vocational H.S. is completely an autonomous and equivalent course which aim at imparting practical and hands on education to students and making them eligible to earn, i.e., enhancing their employability.

Syllabus :

At present we have opened two streams for vocational training :

  1. Engineering and Technology (E & T ) Branch.
  2. Business and Commerce ( B & C) Branch.

Both of the courses mentioned above are full time of two years duration. They will run according to school time.

Number of seats :   30 in each streams

Future Prospects :

The students will find a variety of career options after the successful completion of vocational training. It is worth mentioning here that Vocational training is awarenessly new. Consequently major part of it is still under planning. WBSCVE & T and concerned authority own the right to take al the necessary decisions. School authority is, thus , no way responsible.

At present the students will be benefited from the above courses in the following ways :

  1. Students are eligible to take admission to general B.Sc., B.Sc. course in college after successful completion of the course.
  2. Students may get admission to some limited seats, directly, to Polytechnic in the second year.
  3. Students will also get preference to self help group or vocational projects ( Like Apprentice ) etc.

Faculty :

The faculty members are qualified and selected by WBSCVT & E. However, the school teachers will not teach the students of vocational course.

Discipline :  Naktala High School enjoys high decorum of discipline from its students and the school expects the same from the students of Vocational HS Courses.
